I was once told that a minister should preach with a Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. Christ uses parables that speak to his people in ways that they can understand.
As leaders in the church we must be up-to-date on what is happening in our world so we too can speak intelligently to others so that they can understand what God's word shares about how to handle our current events.
