August 6, 2009 - All Things

What is coming at you? God is with you!

Today's Scripture:

We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

Kim always felt the worst thing that could ever happen was for a person to lose his or her job. So when her boss told her that her position was being eliminated because of budget cuts, she was shocked. She had three months left to find another job, and the company had no openings at her management level. "Actually, losing my job was the best thing that ever happened to me," Kim says today, "It forced me to try to start my own business. And thanks to that, I can work from home and be there for my kids."

Whenever unfortunate events or even tragedies happen, you hear people murmur, "Well, they say everything happens for the best. " Often these folks don't realize they're quoting a scriptural promise found in Romans 8:28.

God is aware of every situation you encounter, and he can fit it into the master plan for your life.

That doesn't mean everything that happens to you will be good. You and I live in a world where problems and difficulties happen daily, where bad things strike without notice, to all people. But no matter what happens in your life, God promises he will use it - even the tragedies - for some redeeming purpose. He is Lord in your life, during the good days and even in the bad moments.

Selah people' and friends today, no matter what life throws at you, rest in the promise and the hope that God can use anything, good or bad, to create the beautiful tapestry of your life.

"May God take us to new heights even if we have been knocked down. Remember we are never defeated as long as we keep our eyes upon the prize in all things...Jesus!"
