March 31, 2010 ~ Church Leaders Report

They often say we should preach God's word with a Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other. Please be an informed Christian and stay up-to-date on what is happening all around us. The Church Leaders Intelligence Report is a nice tool and provides all sources of information. May you and those close to you continue to move closer to the cross.

March 30, 2010 ~ Message To The Masses

What tools has God blessed you with to help and serve others?

Today's Scripture:

God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on Earth, Your salvation among all nations.

Psalm 67: 1-2

The Bible is filled with examples of how God blesses his people. In the Old Testament, God's blessings were typically physical ones, expressed in the form of personal provision, protection, and prosperity. In the New Testament, God's Spirit promised even richer blessings, such as peace, comfort, joy, hope, and eternal life - not to mention God's greatest blessing of all, the gift of his Son.

Like any loving father, God blesses his children simply because he love them and delights in giving them pleasure. However, Psalm 67 reveals an even greater purpose behind God's gifts: God's blessings can provide the world with tangible evidence that he is active, involved and graciously good.

One lesson this psalm teaches is that there is nothing wrong with asking God for his blessings. It also gives an Old Testament glimpse into God's New Testament plans. In the Old Testament, God primarily blessed the on distinct group of people he chose to demonstrate his love to and through - the people of Israel. Yet even then, God loved all the nations of the earth and wanted them also to experience his blessing of salvation.

Selah people' and friends as the Israelites drew closer to God, their desires better reflected God's own. The same I have found for myself and my family and can be true for you. As God's love for the world fills your heart and your prayers, ask him to use every blessing he bestows on you to provide others with a clearer picture of who he is.

"Consider the fact that every blessing can be a tool. Ask God to help you use your blessings wisely, in ways that draw others closer to Him."

March 28, 2010 ~ Healing Scriptures

Some time ago, The Lord put it on my heart to post the healing scriptures that Dodie Osteen has stood on for over 25 years here on my blog. She was diagnosed with cancer and told by her doctors to go home and prepare to die. Praise God she did not accept their diagnosis into her Spirit but ran to her Father and stood on His Word and promises.

Initially I was just going to list the scriptures, then I thought about creating a hyper-link so you could click on the scripture and go to a website and read it, but the Lord impressed on me the need to list each scripture in full. I found the list on the Lakewood Church website and I began typing out the list and the verses. I got halfway through the list (which took me over 2 hours) and while I was taking a break, I was doing some searching through the internet and I found IAHR which Praise God, has the list and verses already listed. They use the New King James Version, however you can go to Bible Resources or BibleGateway to look up other versions of these scriptures. (Note – IAHR was a site that led to www.jesushealers.com however that site is no longer available

5. God is for you. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (2 Cor 1:20 NKJV)

6. It is God’s will for you to be healed. And behold, a leper came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Mat 8:2-3 NKJV)

7. Obey God’s Word and be healed. and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” (Exo 15:26 NKJV)

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. (Mal 3:10 NKJV)

11. One of God’s benefits is healing. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 19. Agree with someone for your healing “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (Mat 18:19 NKJV)

20. What you say will make a difference. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:22-23 NKJV)

21. Believe, and you will receive. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (Mark 11:24 NKJV)

23. Have someone lay hands on you for healing. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 NKJV)

24. Worship God. “Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. (John 9:31 NKJV)

25. The devil wants to kill you; God wants to heal you. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)

26. You are redeemed from the curse. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal 3:13-14 NKJV)

27. You will not waiver in your faith. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Heb 10:23 NKJV)

28. You can have confidence in God and His Word. Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (Heb 10:35 NKJV)

29. You can find strength in God and His Word “…. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” (Joel 3:10 NKJV)

30. Jesus Christ has never changed. What He did in the Bible, He will do for you today. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8 NKJV)

31. God’s highest wish is for you to be well. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2 KJV)

32. Be anointed with oil by a Christian who believes in healing. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:14-15 NKJV)

33. Jesus has already paid the price for your healing. who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Pet 2:24 NKJV)

34. Be confident in your prayers. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15 NKJV)

35. God answers the prayers of those that keep His commandments. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. (1 John 3:21-22 NKJV)

36. Fear is not of God. Rebuke it! For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7 NKJV)

37. Cast down those thoughts and imaginations that don’t line up with the Word of God. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Cor 10:4-5 NKJV)

38. Be strong in the Lord’s power. Put on His armor to fight for healing. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (Eph 6:10-17 NKJV)

39. Give testimony of your healing. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Rev 12:11 NKJV)

40. Your sickness will leave and not come back again. What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time. (Nahum 1:9 NKJV)

March 23, 2010 ~ A Servant's Heart

Do we have the heart of a servant? Jesus shows us the way...

Today's Scripture:

In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.

Philippians 2:5

Modern culture encourages individual to fight for their rights, push their way to the top, and always look out for number one. Jesus demonstrated a different way to approach life, with the attitude of a servant who lays aside his rights for the benefit of others. In his letter to the church at Philippi, Paul challenged the Philippians to make a counterculture choice and to follow Jesus' example.

To understand what it means to have the attitude and actions of Jesus alive and working within you, read the Gospels. Note how Jesus treated people. Note his patience, his compassion, and his sacrificial perspective on life. He voluntarily put earthly limitations on his heavenly form in order to bless others. He continually asked his Father for "they will, " not "my will," to be accomplished. Out of anyone who ever lived on this earth, Jesus had more reason to demand that others put him on a pedestal than anyone else. He deserved to be honored and served. Instead, out of an attitude of humility, he chose to be the servant of all.

Selah people' and friends your attitude influences your decisions and actions and, ultimately, the effect they have on the lives of others. A selfish, self-centered attitude will eventually lead to self-destruction. A humble, God-centered attitude will lead to deeper personal peace and a greater positive impact on the world around you. It also will bring joy and honor to God, who dearly loves you. Help keep your attitude in check by keeping this in mind.

"Love is the motivation behind the attitude that you are asked to emulate. The closer you draw to God, the deeper your love will grow and the more like Jesus your attitude will become."

March 21, 2010 ~ Spectacular Failure

Will you allow Christ to catch you today and have faith
that he is always there ready to help you.

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

—Matthew 14:31-32

Have you ever stepped out in faith, lost your nerve, and started to sink? We all will have lapses of faith. We all will have those moments where we are not sure of what we are doing. It is not all that unusual. So what should we do when this happens? We should call out to Jesus.

When Peter stepped out in faith at Jesus' command and began walking on water, fear set in and he began to sink. So he cried out to Jesus, and the Bible tells us that "immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?' " (Matthew 14:31).

Notice that Jesus did not say, "Hey, you made your bed. Sleep in it. You had to be out there doing this crazy thing. It's your own fault." No, that is not what happened. The Bible says that immediately Jesus reached out. In the original language, the two words, "little faith" are one word. There is almost the idea of affection in the term used here, almost like a nickname—Littlefaith. It's as though Jesus were saying, "Come on, man! You were doing so well! Why did you doubt?"

Selah people' and friends the word tells us that then Jesus lifted him up, and they walked on water again. We don't read that the storm stopped until they reached the boat. It was still raging. But Peter had his focus back, and with his eyes on Jesus, he was once again able to do the impossible.

"We should never doubt our beliefs and believe our doubts. Instead, we should believe our beliefs and doubt our doubts. Peter did fail. But it was a spectacular failure. And if you are going to fail, then this is the way to do it. When my brother Matthew and I surfed daily with our good friends at the old Paradise pier we had saying - Go big or go home. Some of our greatest rides in the biggest of surf were wipeouts. The victory is not being afraid to fail. Remember today that it is better to fail going big than to sit back and never get into the water. Christ is always there to offer us a needed hand even in the storms we call life."

March 19, 2010 ~ Living Water

Has your life been flooded with God's goodness?

Today's Scripture:

Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty water,...I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:16-21

Have you ever traveled to Arizona? Thee is a place called Montezuma's Castle, a cliff dwelling , over looking a cool stream, not far from the desert between Phoenix and Sedona, off Highway I-17. Those Native Americans knew well a good place to live, grow their crops, and flourish hundreds of years ago.

So, God calls us to follow him through the desert of our lives to drink from the living water of His Love. We should keep our eye on the Living Water of Jesus as our Savior. He is giving us an oasis of abundant life.

Selah people' and friends with all of the busyness of school and work, friends and family, computers, Internet, texting and TV how do you keep your eye on the Living Water, Jesus?

How can you lead your neighbors toward this living water by the way you live your life, and love the Lord?

What do you do to listen to hear God's voice in the desert, the lonely, troubled times to follow his calling toward toward this living water?

One thing I want us to think about as we move closer to Easter in this season of Lent is when water the seeds that were planted in the past two weeks in anticipation for Spring. Purchase an Easter lily or other Easter flowers to fragrance your home. Give thanks for fresh running water that in so many parts of the world is just a dream that we all take for granted. Try to take a moment to write a short prayer thanking God for the abundant life that comes from the Living Water. If you feel like making a joyous noise then Sing the hymn:" Take my Life and Let it Be Consecrated Lord to Thee."

"Remember today and always that each of us that accepted Christ as Lord and Savior has been washed with the blood of the Lamb and are called to share the living water of Christ. Do something today to help yourself and others find their way through the wilderness we call life and help give them a river of living water during those dry desert places in life."

March 18, 2010 ~ The Bible on one page

Below you will find the Bible on one page...When you go to chapter and verse you can click to change from NIV to KJV or any you prefer. Also, the Biblegateway site offers option to click on the listen to verse option where it will read the entire chapter you have selected. My Dad shared this with me some time back and I used it daily when looking up text or to just here God's word while I'm working on other projects.

I hope you and yours are having a great week and bookmark or favorite the blog to have the Bible at your fingertips.
