March 31, 2011~ Be a Dream Releaser...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Be devoted to one another in love..."

Romans 12:10

TODAY'S WORD:

Think about the people God has placed in your life. They're not there by accident. God brings people to you for a purpose. We should live with this awareness that, "I am here to add value to people. I am here to help them succeed." Don't go around always thinking, "I wonder what that person can do for me. I wonder what they have to offer." No, we should have the attitude, "What can I do for them? How can I help them come up higher? Can I teach them something I know? Can I connect them with someone who can help them?" Don't make the mistake of going through life ingrown. Instead, be a dream releaser. Use your talent, your influence and your experience, not just to accomplish your goals, but to help release a dream in someone else.

Selah people' and friends remember, there is nothing more rewarding than to lay down at night knowing that you helped someone else become better. You not only fulfilled your purpose for that day, you did your best. It may have just been a two-minute phone call, a card, email or text where you encouraged someone; but my friends when you live your life as a dream releaser, you'll see your own dreams come alive as well!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, thank You for equipping me to be a blessing to others. Show me ways to be a dream releaser and help others to rise up higher. Help me to use my influence to encourage others and honor You always. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

In Christ service,

March 30th, 2011~ Help Others be WINNERS!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...He tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him...But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him..."

Acts 9:26–27

TODAY'S WORD:

In Scripture, the Apostle Paul would have never had the impact he did without a man named Barnabas. Barnabas was one of the disciples. He was in Jesus' inner circle. But Paul, at the time, hated believers and was having them thrown in jail. God touched his life, and he wanted to go to Jerusalem and join the other disciples, but they were afraid of him because of His reputation. Barnabas stood up for Paul and used his influence to open a door with the other disciples. Paul went on to write over half of the New Testament.

Selah people' and friends we don't hear a lot about Barnabas. Paul greatly overshadowed him. But if you were to ask Paul he would say, "I won because Barnabas helped me win. I succeeded because Barnabas took a risk and opened a door that I could not open on my own. Barnabas believed in me when nobody else did."

Friend, there is no greater legacy than to help someone else win. Today, look for ways to use your influence. Help others rise up higher. Sow good seeds because they will come back to you. When you help others win, God will make sure you are surrounded by people who will help you win in return.

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Heavenly Father, thank You for Your truth which sets me free today. It is my delight to do Your will and help others succeed at becoming WINNERS in the faith. Show me ways to be a blessing and help others. Let everything I do bring glory to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

In Christ service,

Patrick

March 29, 2011~True Success...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...Freely you have received; freely give"

Matthew 10:8

TODAY'S WORD:

There are a lot of people who are successful in this world. They've accomplished their goals in the public eye. But being successful isn't just about what you make happen for yourself, it's about what you make happen for others. It's when you realize, "God has blessed me not to just sit on my throne and let everybody see my accomplishments; God has blessed me to be a blessing to others. God has helped me to win so I can help somebody else win."

Brothers and sisters ask yourself today how God through others has helped you in some small or large way. Can you not return that favor by passing on the blessing to a friend, family member or even a stranger who may be in need? In other words, it's when you realize, "God helped me overcome this addiction, now I'm going to go find somebody and help them overcome." Or, "God has blessed me with a happy family. I'm going to go find a family that's struggling and help them get back on track." That's what being successful is really all about.

Selah people' and friends today, look for ways to help others succeed. Reach back and give freely of the talents and abilities you've been given. As you do, you'll rise up higher and live in the fullness of the blessing God has prepared for you! Don't take a wrong turn choose the right direction for you life and success.

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father God, thank You for giving me so much. Thank You for blessing me with talents and abilities and the desire to bless others. Show me ways to reach out and help others move forward and help them be successful so we can all rise higher together. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Patrick

March 27,2011~In the Day of Trouble

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble"

Psalm 46:1

TODAY'S WORD:

I'm here today to remind each of you that God is always present with you. That means at all times, continually, perpetually, throughout all time, God is with you. In your day of trouble, He is a help to you. How is He your help? By providing whatever you need; by opening doors for you; by orchestrating things in your favor. That's because "help" is specific to your need. We serve a God who is very specific, and because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need!

Selah people' and friends today, are you facing trouble or adversity? Know that God is with you. Look to Him for help. Trust that He has the answer, and that He is working things out in your favor. As you continue to believe Him and follow His direction, He will lead you in the way that you should go. He will comfort you, revive you, restore you and bless you! He will be your ever-present help because He is forever faithful to His Word!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father God, thank You for being my ever-present help. I trust today that You are with me, that You are comforting me and restoring my soul. I lift my eyes to You this day. Help me to follow Your commands and honor You as You direct my steps. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 26, 2011~Father Knows Best

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Jesus said, “Your Father knows the things you need before you ask him.”

Matthew 6:8

TODAY’S WORD:

Jesus gave his disciples the Lord’s Prayer as an example of how to pray. Right before he spoke those famous words, Jesus shared a few reasons about WHY to pray. To do this, he provided two examples – negative ones. Jesus said the Pharisees prayed in public because they wanted to be seen as holy by other people. He also said idol worshippers prayed, repeating themselves over and over, because they believed that the more frequently they asked for something the better chance they had of having their request granted. After those negative examples, Jesus spoke the reassurance that God already knows what you need.

Friends at first you may think, His words may seem to provide reason why not to pray, instead of why to pray. If God knows what you need before you ask, why bother asking in the first place Patrick? Jesus’ point is that the purpose of prayer is not to be noticed by other people-or even by God. God already notices you. He knows everything about you and your life. Prayer is not a way to draw God’s attention to your needs. It is a way to draw your attention to how much you need God.

Selah people’ and friends your greatest continual need is to better know and love God. Communicating with Him about the details of your life keeps you aware of how involved he already is. It also helps you see how many of your needs he fills every day. The more you recognize your dependence on God, the more thankful you become, and the deeper your love grows.

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Heavenly Father, we know the Lord’s Prayer teaches us to pray for our daily bread. We see that Jesus’ words from Matthew don’t contradict that lesson. Thank Him for reminding us that God needs to be involved in our lives daily, not just informed about it. Help us to receive what God has for each of us today.”

March 25, 2011~ Something Out of Nothing

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"The earth was formless and empty...and God said, Let there be light"

Genesis 1:2–3

TODAY'S WORD:

My brothers and sisters I ask you today do you need a miracle in your life for something that seems impossible? With man it may be, but we serve the all-powerful God, and He can create something out of nothing! He can make a way when there seems to be no way and open doors that seemed closed forever! I have seen this first hand in my life and in others during my ministry over the past 17 years. So it is not just favor on me as a pastor it is available to each and every one of His creations and was there before we were ever born.

Genesis tells us that in the beginning, God created the heavens and earth, but before He spoke the world into existence, it was formless and void. If God can make the world out of nothing, He can take the empty places in your life and create something beautiful, too! He can speak light into your darkest hour. He can take your formless dreams and give them shape. He can resurrect your dormant gifts and talents! He can make your crooked places straight! I've been in many a crooked place in my life and if your reading this on the day I've uploaded it is Friday evening almost 6pm. I'm getting ready to leave my office and head for home. Where are you going? What are your plans for the weekend? Are they crooked or straight?

Selah people' and friends remember, you are created in the image of almighty God. There's power in your words, and there's power when you're in agreement with Him. Start saying what God says about your situation. Speak life to your broken dreams today. Speak hope into the hopeless places. Keep an attitude of faith and expectancy because He will turn things around for you and create something out of nothing!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, I trust that You are willing and able to make a way for me where there seems to be no way in my life. Fill me with Your peace and faith. Give me a vision for all You have for me and help me to always speak Your words of truth and life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 24, 2011~ He is Strong in You

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness..."

Romans 8:26

TODAY'S WORD:

Sometimes, people get distracted by what they consider to be a disadvantage or weakness in their lives. It may be something about their personality or looks that they don't like. Or maybe they've been through an unfair situation: a divorce, a bad business deal or a bad break. We all have things that can feel like disadvantages; things that make it harder on us. It may even be a physical handicap, and you can't get around like you used to. But just because you have a "disadvantage," just because you've been through a tough time doesn't mean you're supposed to sit back and settle where you are. God still has something great for you to do! He wants to show Himself strong in and through you, and He's given you His Holy Spirit to equip you in this life. I share these words to you directly from Him, if you are reading this blog it is meant for you to know He has strength for you to get through what you are facing.

Selah people' and friends today let the Holy Spirit help you when you feel weak. Let Him empower you with truth that will set you free. Stay in faith and don't get negative toward yourself or your future. Let God take what you think is a liability and turn it into an asset! Let Him take what you think is a disadvantage and turn it around to be an advantage! Remember, you are more than a conqueror today and every day because He is strong in you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, today I give You all that I am. I invite You into the weak places in my life so that You can turn them into strengths. Thank You for working in my life and filling me with faith and expectancy. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 23, 2011~ He Answers You

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"I will answer them before they even call to Me..."

Isaiah 65:24

TODAY'S WORD:

Have you ever thought about something you wanted or needed, and suddenly that need was supplied even before you had time to stop and pray? God knows your needs before you even speak them. He wants to provide for you and answer the very desires of your heart. Don't ever think God is too busy to answer you. Don't ever think your needs are too small or that you don't matter. The truth is that He cares about everything that concerns you, and He loves to hear you call upon His name! When you put Him first in everything you do, when you faithfully follow His commands, He'll pour out an extra portion of His goodness and favor upon you!

Selah people' and friends remember, you are very special to God, and He hears you and answers you. It may not be in your timing or in the way you expected, but know that He always has your best interest at heart. He is working things out for your good, and He will always answer — sometimes before you even call!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I trust that You hear me and that You will answer me. Show me Your ways and teach me to trust in You as I surrender to You every area of life. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 22, 2011 ~ The Lord is with you...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go"

Joshua 1:9

TODAY'S WORD:

No matter what today has in store, as a believer in Jesus, you can approach the day with boldness and confidence. Why? Because the Lord is with you, and in Him is everything you need in this life. That means that if you need provision for something today, provision is with you. If you need wisdom today, wisdom is with you. If you need strength, joy or peace today, it's with you. You can be confident today knowing that all of your needs are supplied spiritually, physically and emotionally because the Lord is with you. And best of all, He's promised never to leave you! Isn't it good to know that you will always have whatever you need any time you need it! Even when the storms of life are coming know that He is there.

Selah people' and friends today, don't let lies from the enemy or pressure from the world keep you from taking hold of everything the Lord has for you. Open your heart by faith and receive whatever it is that you need today. Just begin to thank Him for His provision in your life and move forward in confidence and strength knowing that the Lord is with you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me today. Thank You for Your faithfulness. I know that You are closer to me than the air I breathe. Today I receive Your promises in faith and choose to cast all of my cares on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 21, 2011 ~ God is for You

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?"

Romans 8:31

TODAY'S WORD:

There are many misconceptions about God in the world today. Some people think He's mad at them wanting to punish us for all our mistakes, and other's think He's keeping a list of all their wrongs. But that isn't what scripture tells us. Scripture tells us that God is gracious, patient and loving; that He is forgiving and doesn't treat us as our sins deserve. Scripture tells us that God is for us, and if God is for us, who can be against us?

Think about that for a moment. The same God who created the heavens and earth, the one who spoke the universe into existence and knows everything about you, He is on your side and wants the best for you. I love today's verse because it is a great reminder that when God is for you, no one can win against you. Not the pain of your past. Not any mistake you've made. Not the forces of hell, your worst enemy, a bad economy, a difficult housing market or anything else on this earth.

Selah people' and friends today, instead of dwelling on what you're not, dwell on what He is — He is faithful, He is loving, He is with you and He is for you! And with God on your side, you are headed for victory all the days of your life!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Heavenly Father, You are good! Thank You for choosing me and equipping me with everything I need in this life. Thank You for being my Defender, my Hope and my Victory. I bless You and glorify You in all that I do. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 18, 2011~ You're Loved...reminder TGIF

You're Loved...

More than you know.
More than you see.
Deeper than you've dared to dream.
All you fear might hold you back
has been wiped away, forgiven,
covered up by grace.
The One who created you,
knows you, calls you his own,
looks at you with love
and says, "You're mine forever."
Your heart has a home
and it's not a place
but a Person who will never let you go.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed. Isaiah 54:10

Thanks to Holly Gerth for sharing this reminder today.

March 18, 2011~Through the Fire...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...We went through fire and flood, but You brought us to a place of abundance"

Psalm 66:12

TODAY'S WORD:

In scripture, three Hebrew teenagers, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, were told to bow down to the king's idol or they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. They said, "No, King. We're not going to bow down. We know our God will deliver us." Their attitude was, "We're not worried about it. We know we have inside information. We know everything is going to be alright." Notice they didn't fight it. They weren't upset. They weren't complaining. They were at peace. They knew God Almighty had His hand upon them. The guards threw them into the fiery furnace, and when all was said and done, they came out without even the smell of smoke on them!

Selah people' and friends notice that God didn't deliver them from the fire; He delivered them through the fire. Maybe you are going through the fire today. Know that God is with you and I today just as he was with them. He's doing a work in you, and He's displaying His glory through you. Remember, on the other side of the fire is a place of abundance and blessing! Stand strong and see the fulfillment of the promises He has in store for you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, thank You for delivering and saving me. I stand strong no matter what I may be facing, knowing that You are with me. Thank You for protecting me through the fire and for leading me to the place of abundance and blessing You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 17, 2011 ~ He Sees...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"I will be glad and rejoice in Your unfailing love, for You have seen my troubles, and You care about the anguish of my soul"

Psalm 31:7

TODAY'S WORD:

God sees and cares about everything that happens in your life. He's seen every wrong that's been done to you. He's seen every unfair situation. He told the people of Israel, "I have seen your affliction. I have seen how badly you were treated those 430 years that you were in slavery." Then He went on to say, "I have come down to deliver you." When God brought them out, they didn't come out empty-handed. God made their enemies hand over their gold and silver. God vindicated His people, and He will vindicate you!

Selah people' and friends maybe someone has wronged you today. You could easily become bitter and angry and spend your life trying to pay them back. However, if you will give it to God and let Him do it His way, scripture says He'll pay you double for your trouble! Today, know that He sees where you are, He sees where you've been and He sees the struggles of your heart. Release the struggle to Him and let Him reward you with His everlasting promises.

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father God, today I choose to release the struggles in my heart. I release the offenses and wrongs done to me. I choose forgiveness. I choose peace. I choose to let You be my vindicator knowing that You love me and care for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 16, 2011 ~ Stand and See...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today...the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still"

Exodus 14:13–14

TODAY'S WORD:

In the Bible, when the people of Israel came out of slavery and were headed toward the Promise Land, they were so happy to be finally free! But then Pharaoh changed his mind about letting them go and came chasing after them. They came to a dead end at the Red Sea and things looked impossible. Instead of staying in faith and focusing on the fact that God had delivered them before, the Israelites got upset, fearful and started complaining, "Moses, why did you bring us out here to die?" Moses replied, "Stand still and you will see the deliverance of the Lord." He went on to say, "The Lord will fight for you if you hold your peace and remain at rest." And the Lord was faithful to His Word and delivered them again.

Selah people' and friends Moses knew he had to get the people out of that negative mentality or they would be defeated, and the same is true for you and for me today. You may be in a storm of life as we discussed yesterday, but don't let that storm get in you.

Instead my friends, set your focus on God because He is faithful, and He will fight your battles. Stay calm and remain in peace today because God is going to deliver you and lead you into your promise land!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Help me keep my heart and mind focused on You. No matter what storm I may be facing, I trust that You are working behind the scenes and ordering my steps to the promise land you have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 15, 2011~In the Midst of the Storms...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike"

Matthew 5:45

TODAY'S WORD:

We all have opportunities to get upset and live stressed out. I watch some who never cease from being tossed about and frazzled by them daily. Friends I'd like to remind you that the storms of life come to every person. No matter how good a person you are, you're going to have some "rain" in your life. When these storms come, a lot people use their faith to try to control their circumstances. But I've found it's better to use my faith to control myself in the midst of my circumstances. I know that if I can just remain stable in the storms of life and stay in peace, that's what allows God to act on my behalf.

Selah people' and friends God never said that we wouldn't have difficulties, but He did promise we could have peace in the midst of the storms. When you face adversities, one of the most powerful things you can do is simply stay calm.

When you are at peace, you are displaying your faith in God. By your actions you're saying, "God, I know You're still on the throne. I know You're bigger than this problem." So keep peace in the midst of your storms today. Trust that He is working behind the scenes. Keep your heart open to Him because soon He will deliver you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father God, thank You for peace in the midst of the storms of life. I choose to hold my peace knowing that You are working behind the scenes. I trust You, I trust Your timing, and I trust that You are working everything together for my good because You love me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Nuclear Fuel Rods Fully Exposed at Japan Reactor

Japan's unfolding nuclear-power crisis deepened Monday, with a new explosion and accelerated overheating at one reactor in Fukushima and the start of cooling troubles at another.

Nuclear fuel rods at a quake-stricken Japanese nuclear reactor are now fully exposed, Jiji news agency said, quoting the plant's operator, Tokyo Eletcric Power Co.

The report referred to the Fukushima Daiichi complex's No.2 reactor, where levels of water coolant around the reactor core had been reported as falling earlier in the day.

The Jiji report said a meltdown of the fuel rods could not be ruled out. A meltdown raises the risk of damage to the reactor vessel and a possible radioactive leak, experts say.

Reports are mixed as live feed from Japan is monitored - with one report being that the vessel that contains the fuel rods is not damaged, although water levels have dropped precipitously inside the stricken reactor, which leaves the fuel rods exposed.

Exposed fuel rods are not an issue that atomic energy scientists have had to deal with in the past, and the nature of all worrisome developments are unknown. If a large radiation leak occurs, winds across Japan would carry most out to sea. Typical seasonal wind trajectories across the Pacific would tend to dissipate the amounts of radioactivity that is airborne. However, radioactive particles would take a direct path toward the U.S. West Coast cities, moving at a speed of roughly 20 miles per hour, reaching cities such as Anchorage in 7 days, Honolulu in 8, Seattle in 10 and Los Angles in 11 according to AccuWeather.com.

Meanwhile the USS Ronald Reagan and other ships in the 7th Fleet have moved away from the Japan coastal waters. Seventeen U.S. Navy crew members have already been contaminated with low-levels of radiation, officials said today. They are their helicopters have been undergoing decontamination procedures. The military noted that the level of contamination was low, and the ship movements are precautionary.

Internationally, stock markets are noting the 6% decline in the Japanese exchange. The central bank injected a record amount into money markets in attempts to stabilize the yen. (Japan is the second largest holder of U.S. debt and its internal losses may have an impact.) Nations that have a heavy reliance upon nuclear energy are assessing their own plants' safety measures.

Aftershocks continue, and a reported second tsunami proved to be unfounded. Food, water and fuel are running short in some parts of Japan, and huge swathes of the country remain without power in winter conditions (Sources: Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Pacific News, AccuWeather, NY Daily News, BBC Live, Fox News, CNN))

As the Lord leads, please pray now:

  • For crews working to provide appropriate water levels inside the affected nuclear reactors to avoid a meltdown.
  • For rescuers who hunt for survivors of the quake and tsunami.
  • For God's intervention in keeping radioactive particles from reaching the U.S.
  • For economic impacts that will be felt worldwide.
  • About the many unknowns as international scientists scramble to make accurate predictions.
