March 15, 2012 ~ Greatness of His Favor...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us...raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus"

Ephesians 2:4–7

TODAY'S WORD:

Oftentimes, people set their focus on what God has done in the past — how He parted the Red Sea, or stopped the sun for Joshua, or fed thousands of people with just a little boy's small lunch. Yes, God has performed many amazing miracles throughout history, and it's important that we give Him praise and glory.

But at the same time, we also have to look forward to what God wants to do in our lives today. In this verse, Paul says that "in the ages to come" God would do things that far supersede anything He's ever done before. I believe that the "ages to come" that he's talking about is this day and time we're living in right now. God wants to outdo Himself in our generation!

Selah people' and friends remember, God is a God of increase. Where you are today is not where you are supposed to stay. He has greater levels of His favor and blessing in store for you. Dare to dream big! Dare to keep a God-sized vision in front of you! Dare to take hold of every blessing that the Lord has in store for you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Today I open my heart and mind to You so that I can see the greatness of what You want to do in my life. Use me for Your glory. Thank You for Your favor. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

March 10, 2012 ~ Through the Fire!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...We went through fire and flood, but You brought us to a place of abundance"

Psalm 66:12

TODAY'S WORD:

In scripture, three Hebrew teenagers, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, were told to bow down to the king's idol or they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. They said, "No, King. We're not going to bow down. We know our God will deliver us." Their attitude was, "We're not worried about it. We know we have inside information. We know everything is going to be alright." Notice they didn't fight it. They weren't upset. They weren't complaining. They were at peace. They knew God Almighty had His hand upon them. The guards threw them into the fiery furnace, and when all was said and done, they came out without even the smell of smoke on them! WOW!!!

Selah people' and friends notice that God didn't deliver them from the fire; He delivered them through the fire. Maybe you are going through the fire today my friend. I mean if you took to time to read what I have wrote you must know that God intended for each of us to connect at this moment with the word of God. Know that God is with you. He's doing a work in you, and He's displaying His glory through you. Remember, on the other side of the fire is a place of abundance and blessing! Stand strong and see the fulfillment of the promises He has in store for you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father in heaven, thank You for delivering and saving me. I stand strong no matter what I may be facing, knowing that You are with me. Thank You for protecting me through the fire and for leading me to the place of abundance and blessing You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 9, 2012 ~ Stand and See...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today...the LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still"

Exodus 14:13–14

TODAY'S WORD:

In the Bible, when the people of Israel came out of slavery and were headed toward the Promise Land, they were so happy to be finally free! But then Pharaoh changed his mind about letting them go and came chasing after them. They came to a dead end at the Red Sea and things looked impossible. Instead of staying in faith and focusing on the fact that God had delivered them before, the Israelites got upset, fearful and started complaining, "Moses, why did you bring us out here to die?" Moses replied, "Stand still and you will see the deliverance of the Lord." He went on to say, "The Lord will fight for you if you hold your peace and remain at rest." And the Lord was faithful to His Word and delivered them again.

Selah people' and friends Moses knew he had to get the people out of that negative mentality or they would be defeated, and the same is true for you and I today. You may be in a storm of life, but don't let that storm get in you. Instead, set your focus on God because He is faithful, and He will fight your battles. Stay calm and remain in peace today because God is going to deliver you and lead you into your promise land!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Help me keep my heart and mind focused on You. No matter what storm I may be facing, I trust that You are working behind the scenes and ordering my steps to the promise land you have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 5, 2012 ~ Prospering In Everything!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper"

Psalm 1:3

TODAY'S WORD:

Large trees represent power, majesty, and stability. Have you ever noticed the difference between a tree planted by the water, and a tree far away from water? The tree next to the water is much more healthy and vibrant. Its fruit and blossoms are more beautiful. In the Bible, the Word of God is compared to water. When you are "planted" in the Word of God, your spirit is fed and you grow strong just like the tree planted by the water. Trees planted by the water will yield fruit at the right season, and will not lose strength. I love the promise at the end of this verse that says those who love and obey the Lord will prosper in whatever they do.

Selah people' and friends do you want to prosper in your relationships? Seek God's Word regarding relationships. Do you want to prosper in your health? Seek God's Word about healing. Do you want to prosper in your finances? Seek God's Word regarding finances. As you seek God and His Word you will grow strong and mighty in His power and everything you undertake will prosper!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"God, thank You for Your Word which is Truth and refreshing water to my soul. Thank You for teaching me to seek You in all that I do. I trust You today and choose to commit my every decision to You so that I can be planted by the water. In Jesus' Name, amen."

March 4th, 2012 ~ In the Midst of the Storms...

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"...He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike"

Matthew 5:45

TODAY'S WORD:

We all have opportunities to get upset and live stressed out. The storms of life come to every person. No matter how good a person you are, you're going to have some "rain" in your life. When these storms come, a lot people use their faith to try to control their circumstances. But I've found it's better to use my faith to control myself in the midst of my circumstances. I know that if I can just remain stable in the storms of life and stay in peace, that's what allows God to act on my behalf. Today we shared in our worship service at Selah that Christ let us all know that we must carry our own cross, not HIS.

Selah people' and friends God never said that we wouldn't have difficulties, but He did promise we could have peace in the midst of the storms. When you face adversities, one of the most powerful things you can do is simply stay calm. When you are at peace, you are displaying your faith in God. By your actions you're saying, "God, I know You're still on the throne. I know You're bigger than this problem." So keep peace in the midst of your storms today. Trust that He is working behind the scenes. Keep your heart open to Him because soon He will deliver you!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Father God, thank You for peace in the midst of the storms of life. I choose to hold my peace knowing that You are working behind the scenes. I trust You, I trust Your timing, and I trust that You are working everything together for my good because You love me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

March 3, 2012 ~ Fulfilling the Law of Christ!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ"

Galatians 6:2

TODAY'S WORD:

When we live in peace and unity, it pleases God. When we love and serve others, putting their needs above our own, we are honoring Him. When we carry each other's burdens, we are fulfilling the law of Christ, which is to love others.

What does it mean to carry each other's burdens?

There are many ways to reach out to people and help shoulder their load of life. Just by giving an encouraging word or smile, you can help lighten the load for someone. When you pray and intercede for others in their day of difficulty, you are helping to carry their burdens. Maybe there are other ways to help the people around you. Maybe you can pay for someone's lunch, groceries or give someone cash at the gas pump. Anytime you help others and reach out to those in need, scripture says you are directly lending a hand to God Himself.

Selah people' and friends today, look for ways to lighten the load for the people around you. Be a burden lifter. Remember, in God's kingdom what you sow, you shall reap. When you help others, God promises to repay you. He'll pour out His victory and blessing upon you all the days of your life!

OUR PRAYER FOR TODAY:

"Heavenly Father, I want to fulfill Your law of love by serving and helping others. Show me how to be a blessing to the people around me so that I can help carry their burdens. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Patrick
